Finnish for the Working Place - Suomen kielen perusteet työpaikan viestintätilanteisiin

The language training Finnish for Working Life is aimed at persons working in a Finnish work environment and with no or some prior basic Finnish skills.The goal is to learn the basics of Finnish that are needed at the workplace and to gain confidence to actively use the Finnish language with colleagues.

The participants learn Finnish in an efficient and fun way with the help of exercises that encourage interaction and active participation. The training focuses on oral skills and the students will practise with the help of different pragmatic activities.

Course topics

The course covers, for example, the following topics:

• Greetings and introductions between colleagues
• Your own work: Basic expressions and vocabulary to describe your job
• Small talk: Topics and phrases
• Numbers: Time of day, prices, dates, etc.
• How to express your opinion and to take part in conversations

The trainer designs the final course contents based on the particular needs and levels of the students in the group.
